FACTORY TEST

A full load test is conducted at 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and 110%. All control functions are simulated and protective devices checked, passed and then approved for despatch.

FINISH

The generator can be finished in any colour specified by the customer. A colour chart is available if requested.

WARRANTY

12 months from date of commissioning or 18 months from date of shipment, whichever is sooner. Please read our standard conditions of supply and standard terms of warranty for more details.

Standard Specification

ENGINE

Industrial 4 stroke water cooled diesel
engine complete with air, fuel and oil filters, electric starting and charging equipment, engine protection against low oil pressure, high engine temperature and low water level.
Rated in accordance with ISO 3046 / ISO 8528. Mechanical governor is fitted up to 6CTA8.3G2, and Electronic governor thereafter. An Electronic Control Module is fitted on all quantum engines.

ALTERNATOR

Brushless, self exciting, self regulating, screen protected, drip proof rated in accordance with BS 4999/5000. Voltage regulation maintained within ± 1.5% from no load to full load, between 0.8 lagging and unity. All standard voltages available. Radio suppression to BS 800.

COOLING

Radiator and cooling fan complete with protection guards, designed to cool engine at specified output in air temperatures up to 45°C. Radiators suitable for higher temperatures are available. Low water level protection fitted as standard.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

12 Volt up to 6CTA8.3G2 and 24 Volt thereafter. Axial type starter motor, battery charging alternator, high capacity lead acid battery, battery tray mounted on the generator baseframe, and heavy duty interconnecting cable with terminations.

EXHAUST SYSTEM

Heavy duty industrial exhaust silencer with flexible piping.

CONSTRUCTION

The generator is mounted on a heavy duty fabricated steel baseframe, complete with lifting eyes. The engine is coupled to the alternator via an SAE flange, connecting the engine flywheel to the alternator rotor. Anti-Vibration Mountings are fitted between the engine/alternator feet and the baseframe (below the baseframe over 500 kVA).

FUEL SYSTEM

The base frame incorporates a daily service fuel tank up to 500 kVA. The tank is complete with contents gauge, filler cap, filter with breather and strainer, fuel feed and return lines, drain plug and vent pipe. On units without fuel tank, the feed and return pipes are terminated on the base frame.

CONTROL PANEL

Set mounted totally enclosed sheet steel control panel complete with 3 Ammeters, Voltmeter with selector switch, 3 Current Transformers, Frequency / RPM meter, Hours Run Counter, Water Temperature Gauge, Oil Pressure Gauge, Battery Ammeter, Key Start Module for Start / Stop operation. Shutdown and Protection Devices for Low Oil Pressure, High Engine Temperature and Low Coolant Level

MAIN LINE CIRCUIT BREAKER

3 Pole circuit breaker mounted inside the control panel or on the set in a separate enclosure, with easy access for incoming and outgoing cables. The circuit breaker is complete with thermal and magnetic trips.
